is a village in The Benton and Waukegan Townships of Lake
County, Illinois,

States. The population was 10,072 at the 2000 census.

families residing in the village. The population

The racial makeup of the village was 85.31% White,

races, and 2.24% from two or more races. Hispanic
or Latino
of any race were 13.58% of the population.
There were 3,636 households out of
which 36.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them,
60.7% were married
couples living together, 10.8% had a female householder with
no husband present, and 25.0% were non-families. 20.5% of all
households were made up of individuals and 6.7% had someone living
alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size
was 2.77 and the average family size was 3.21.
In the village the population was
spread out with 27.0% under the age of 18, 7.7% from 18 to 24,
29.9% from 25 to 44, 25.1% from 45 to 64, and 10.2% who were 65
years of age or older. The median age was 37 years. For every 100
females there were 98.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and
over, there were 96.3 males.
The median income for a household in
the village was $56,553, and the median income for a family was
$65,064. Males had a median income of $42,982 versus $32,412 for
females. The per
capita income for the village was $23,803. About 3.5% of
families and 3.7% of the population were below the poverty
line, including 7.1% of those under age 18 and none of those
